Papa's Pilar Rum is a tribute to Ernest Hemingway - writer, adventurer and connoisseur. Named after his nickname "Papa" and his beloved boat "Pilar", this brand stands for a spirit of discovery, character and excellence in craftsmanship. The Hemingway Rum Company in Key West, Florida, creates blends from selected rums from the Caribbean, Central and South America, which are refined using a unique solera process.
The rums come from countries such as the Dominican Republic, Panama, Venezuela and Barbados. They are masterfully blended in Key West and matured in bourbon, port wine and sherry barrels - a tribute to Hemingway's global travels.
Complex rums with depth are created under the direction of Master Blender Ron Call. The solera process enables a harmonious combination of different ages and barrel types, resulting in a multi-layered taste profile.
The bottles are reminiscent of field bottles and feature details such as a metal chain and the Hemingway seal - a real eye-catcher with symbolic power.
