Baron de Ley
Bodega Baron de Ley has been dedicated to the production of top wines since 1985. Baron de Ley's headquarters and wine cellar are located in the former Benedictine monastery of Imas in Mendavia in the Spanish wine-growing region of Rioja. At the time of its foundation, the winery was unique in the wine-growing region. The Bordelais châteaux in France served as models for the newly founded winery. Since then, the famous Rioja wines have been grown here on around 90 hectares of vineyards.
Baron de Ley wines are characterized by their outstanding top quality. They owe this not least to the special climatic conditions of the growing region and the age of the vines. In combination with the special cultivation methods, the vineyards produce very special top-quality wines. At Baron de Ley, the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and brought to the winery by the shortest possible route, thus preserving the high quality of the grapes. Before pressing, the grapes are rigorously harvested in order to process only the highest quality wines. Baron de Ley wine is matured in more than 14,000 barrique barrels made of French and American oak.
The Rioja Reserva is the best-known wine from the bodega and has been synonymous with the winery for years. The wines impress with their characteristic aroma and finesse.
