This special fruit liqueur is made from the fruit of the marula tree, also known as the elephant tree. This tree is mainly found in Africa and bears small, oval-shaped fruit with a hard stone hidden inside. The unusual marula fruit ripens from mid-January to mid-March. It develops its typical yellow color as well as its incomparable and unique taste. The fruit flesh is then processed into a pulp, which is turned into fruit wine in a special fermentation process. This marula wine is then distilled. The resulting spirit serves as the basis for Amarula liqueur.
The liqueur produced in this way is characterized by smooth, sweet and fruity aromas. In addition to the standard bottling of the classic “Amarula Marula Fruit Cream” (with 17% alcohol), there is also a special variant. Finished with the finest vanilla pods from Madagascar, the “Amarula Vanilla Spice Cream” (with 15.5% alcohol) will delight you with its additional vanilla notes.
