Distilleria Marolo was founded in 1977 by Paolo Marolo in Alba, in the heart of Piedmont. From the very beginning, Paolo Marolo set out to redefine grappa as a fine spirit by combining traditional distillation methods with an innovative approach. Instead of mass production, Marolo focused on quality, craftsmanship and the use of the finest local ingredients. This philosophy has quickly made Marolo Grappa one of the most respected brands in Italy and worldwide. Every bottle of Marolo Grappa tells the story of Piedmont, its vineyards and the people who bring passion and dedication to every distillation.

Marolo Grappa is produced using traditional methods, with the pomace – the pressed grape material left over after winemaking – being carefully selected and gently distilled. Marolo uses only fresh, aromatic pomace from high-quality grapes grown in the finest vineyards of Piedmont, including Nebbiolo, Barolo, Moscato and Barbaresco. The distillation process takes place in small, batch-operated copper stills, allowing for a slow and controlled distillation that preserves the aromas and character of the grapes. After distillation, the grappa is aged in stainless steel tanks or in wooden casks of various sizes and wood types to refine and harmonise its flavour.

Marolo Grappa is characterised by its delicate balance, clarity and complex aromas. Depending on the grape variety and ageing process, different flavour profiles emerge, ranging from fruity and floral in younger grappas to deep, spicy and woody in aged varieties. Grappa di Barolo, for example, displays notes of red fruits, vanilla and spices, whilst Grappa di Moscato captivates with aromas of orange blossom, roses and apricots. Marolo Grappa can be enjoyed neat at room temperature to fully experience the aromas, or slightly chilled to highlight its freshness.
