Ich bin begeistert! Es überrascht mich die Sanftheit und Jugendlichkeit dieses 18 jährigen! Im Gegensatz zum 10 jährigen wird er nicht kaltfiltriert, zeigt sich unglaublich reintönig und frisch! Um Meilen besser als der für den Markt gestylte 10yo! Man kann kaum glauben, dass er 18 Jahre alt ist! Der mächtige Bär LAGAVULIN 16yo, lokaler Hauptkonkurrent, punktet mit Kraft. Für mich verliert der LAGAVULIN diesen heissen Kampf! Der LAPHROAIG ist weit feiner und eleganter, völlig ohne Fremdaromen durch diverse Fass-Experimente, purer und echter. Dabei nicht minder torf- und meereswürzig. Na, ein bisschen Sherryfass mag schon dabei sein. Jedenfalls habe ich es hier mit dem besten Whisky zu tun, der mir je unter die Nase und auf die Zunge gekommen ist! Ruhig, dabei lebendig. Schön torfig, dabei zitronig und grasig frisch. Nie aufdringlich, immer ein Gentleman. Der LAPHROAIG 18yo ist der BESTE Whisky, den ich jemals gekostet habe (und ich habe in den letzten 20 Jahren sehr viele Whiskies gekostet...)
