Seit mehr als 600 Jahren engagiert sich die Familie Antinori in der Weinproduktion, beginnend mit der Aufnahme von Giovanni di Piero Antinori in die Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri im Jahr 1385. Diese Tradition, die sich über 26 Generationen erstreckt, wurde stets direkt von der Familie geleitet, gekennzeichnet durch innovative Entscheidungen bei gleichbleibendem Respekt für Tradition und Herkunft.
Jeder Jahrgang und jede Neuerung wird als Chance für die Steigerung der Qualität angesehen. Marquis Piero Antinori unterstreicht, dass die historischen Wurzeln der Familie einen wichtigen Bestandteil ihrer Philosophie darstellen, jedoch nie ein Hindernis für Innovationen waren.
Der Villa Rosso, erstmals 1928 von Niccolò Antinori kreiert und später von Piero Antinori in Villa Antinori umbenannt, ist ein bedeutender Rotwein der Antinori-Tradition. Dieser Wein vereint Rebsorten wie Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Merlot und Syrah. Die Reifung erfolgt über 12 Monate in Barriques aus französischer, ungarischer und amerikanischer Eiche, gefolgt von einer achtmonatigen Lagerung nach dem Abfüllen. Der Wein gedeiht auf sandigem und kalkhaltigem Boden und wird mit einem Naturkorken versiegelt.
Tasting notes:
Tiefes Rubinrot mit Granatreflexen im Glas. In der Nase intensiv und komplex nach Sauerkirschen, Minze und schwarzem Pfeffer. Am Gaumen vollmundig und rund mit geschmeidigen Tanninen. Lang anhaltend und leicht im Abgang.
Trinktemperatur: 16 °C
Der Wein harmoniert sehr gut zu gegrilltem und gebratenem Kalbsfleisch.
