Guiseppe Bologna was a simple man who cultivated a vineyard for himself and his friends on the side and produced small quantities of wine with great dedication. The delicious wine quickly became popular in the village. His son Giacomo probably inherited his father's love of the Barbera grape.
In just three generations, the Bologna family managed to introduce Barbera d'Asti to the big wide world. For a long time, this grape variety was not expected to achieve such greatness - but Giacomo recognized its modern taste and round, ripe tannins early on.
Braida Bricco d'Uccellone d'Asti is an exquisite red wine made from 100% Barbera grapes. These grow on the fertile sand and clay soils of Piedmont, which gives the wine its unmistakable elegance and complexity. Careful vinification begins with a 20-day maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature. After fermentation, the wine matures for 15 months in barrique barrels, followed by a further 12 months in the bottle. The ageing process is completed by sealing with a natural cork, which preserves the quality of the wine and guarantees its impressive ageing potential until 2035.
