Description
The Kavalan Distillery in Taiwan was founded in 2005 by T.T. Lee, the president of the Taiwanese food conglomerate King Car Group. With this foundation, he realized his long-cherished dream of establishing his own whisky distillery in Taiwan.
The name "Kavalan" comes from the Yilan region, which lies south-east of the capital Taipei. This location was not chosen by chance, as Yilan is known for its outstanding water quality. The cold, clear spring water that flows from Snow Mountain provides ideal conditions for the production of premium whisky.
The whisky presented here is part of the Kavalan Core Series. It is matured in carefully selected American oak casks, which give it its foundation of aromas and structure. It is then finished in port casks, which rounds off its character and gives it additional depth of flavor.
