Don Papa, a lesser-known hero of the Philippine revolution, was originally a foreman on a sugar cane plantation on the island of Negros. He later became a leader in the fight for the independence of the Philippines against the colonial powers.

After distillation, the rum first matures at the foot of Mount Kanlaon in ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred to ex-Rioja wine barrels for its finish. This ageing process gives it exceptional complexity and depth.
