Der Lanson Black Label verdankt seinen Namen Victor Lanson, der diesen Champagner als Hommage an den englischen Königshof kreierte, den Lanson seit 1900 offiziell beliefert. Die Farbe Schwarz, ein Symbol für Eleganz, wurde bewusst gewählt und spiegelt die Vorherrschaft der Pinot Noir Trauben wider, die diesem Champagner seine Vitalität und Finesse verleihen. Der Lanson Black Label besteht aus einer harmonischen Mischung von 50 % Pinot Noir, 35 % Chardonnay und 15 % Pinot Meunier, die ihm seine ausgewogene Struktur und Komplexität verleiht.
Die Trauben für diesen Champagner werden aus über 100 Crus ausgewählt, wobei die Hälfte Grand und Premier Crus sind. Die Cuvée besteht zu 50% aus Pinot Noir, 35% aus Chardonnay und 15% aus Pinot Meunier, was dem Champagner seine unvergleichliche Balance und Komplexität verleiht. Um den charakteristischen Stil und die aromatische Tiefe zu bewahren, verwendet Lanson 30 bis 40% Reserveweine, von denen einige mehr als 20 Jahre gereift sind.
Die außergewöhnliche Komplexität des Lanson Black Label entsteht durch eine mindestens vierjährige Reifung in den historischen Kellern des Hauses, was ihm seinen unverwechselbaren Charakter verleiht.
