The Hannes Reeh winery is located in the well-known wine-growing region of Andau, which is close to Lake Neusiedl. With 2400 hours of sunshine, Andau is one of the sunniest places in Austria. The vines grow on gravelly soils and have to make do with very little rainfall (450mm).
Hannes Reeh has been solely responsible for the vinification of the wines since 2007. The winemaker is an unconventional man, self-confident and determined in pursuing his plans.
The grapes for the Hannes Reeh Zweigelt Neusiedlersee DAC are carefully harvested by hand and grow on red gravel soils with a sandy content. After the harvest, the grapes are fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then bottled with a screw cap. The Hannes Reeh Zweigelt has ageing potential until 2028.
