For more than 600 years, the Antinori family has been involved in wine production, starting with Giovanni di Piero Antinori's admission to the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385. Tignanello, first launched in 1971, quickly became a pioneer by breaking the traditional rules of winemaking. As one of the first "Super Tuscans", it marked a new era for Tuscan wines, combining high-quality grape varieties with innovative techniques. The wine bears the name of the Tignanello vineyard, which lies in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany. It is made predominantly from Sangiovese, the characteristic grape variety of Tuscany, and supplemented with non-traditional grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Maturation in French oak barrels gives the Tignanello additional aromas and exceptional complexity.
