Weinhof Kowald in Loipersdorf, run by Wolfgang Kowald, is located on the Styrian Thermenland Wine Route in picturesque Styria, Austria. More than 10 grape varieties are sustainably cultivated and processed on around 15 hectares. The outstanding white wines such as Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, which impress with their freshness and fruitiness, and the full-bodied red wines such as Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch are particularly well-known. The Kowald family has been running the winery for generations and attaches great importance to sustainable cultivation methods and the highest quality standards.
Kowald Uhudler is mainly made from the Concord grape variety. This wine specialty can only be produced from direct producers, i.e. ungrafted grape varieties that are native to southern Burgenland. After the harvest, Uhudler is traditionally matured in stainless steel tanks before being bottled and sealed with a screw cap.
