Bushmills Distillery, located in picturesque County Antrim in Northern Ireland, is the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world. Its origins date back to 1608, when Sir Thomas Phillips was granted the first license to produce whiskey in the region. For over 400 years, the art of whiskey production has been cultivated here at Bushmills Distillery and passed down from generation to generation.
Bushmills 16 Year Old Single Malt is something very special, as it is matured for sixteen years in three different types of cask: First, it matures in bourbon casks, where it picks up aromas of almonds and honey. It then develops its soft, balanced texture in Oloroso sherry casks. The final maturation in port wine barrels gives it its deep ruby red color and leaves a lasting, sweet and fruity note.
The interplay of these cask types makes it a complex and full-bodied whiskey that will delight even the most discerning connoisseurs.

Auch sollte er mit 46 statt lauen 40% abgefüllt werden, das würde seinen Charakter schärfen. Zuviel Geld für einen charakterarmen Schmeichler, möge er auch noch so edel verpackt sein.
