This series includes mezcals that are all made from the same agave variety "Espadín", but come from six different regions of Oaxaca. San Luis del Río Mezcal comes from a small village in the east of the Valles Centrales region of Oaxaca, which is located in the middle of the mountains and close to the Rio Hormiga Colorada (Red Ant River).
The mezcal is produced with great care and dedication by the experienced master distillers Rafael Méndez and Javier Nolasco at the Del Río distillery. The production process follows traditional methods in which the Espadín agave is roasted in stone ovens and then distilled in copper stills.
