In the late 1990s, a group of friends had the ambitious plan to establish the first whisky distillery in Wales for over a century. Their aim was to create a whisky as pure and precious as Welsh gold. In 2004, on St. David's Day, this dream became a reality when Penderyn Whisky saw the light of day. The distillery owes its uniqueness in part to the copper still with a special still designed by Dr. David Faraday. It is located in the village of Penderyn, at the southern end of the Brecon Beacons. The pure spring water from the region contributes significantly to the quality of the exceptional Penderyn whiskies.
Penderyn PEATED Single Malt Welsh Whisky brings a special touch to the Welsh distillery's portfolio. This lightly peated whisky combines Welsh tradition with influences from the Scottish Highlands and Islay. Maturing in ex-bourbon and Scotch casks, Penderyn PEATED develops a balance between sweet and smoky notes.
