Rum von Worthy Park ist immer etwas besonderes, eine gewisse Geschmackslinie zieht sich durch das Gesamte Sortiment, doch hat jeder einzelne Rum von WP seine Vorzüge und Einsatzgebiete. Den Rum Bar Gold sehe ich ganz klar in Cocktails die einen fruchtigen, jedoch filigraneren Rum benötigen, da sich der Rum Bar Gold mit Esternoten etwas zurückhält, was aber nichts schlechtes ist, denn Esterbomben gibt es schliesslich genug auf dem Jamaikanischen Markt. Zunächst hatte ich eine süße Apfelnote in der Nase, die sich hier mit einer ganz dezenten Bananennote vermischt, also nicht ansatzweise so krass wie bspw. beim Worthy Park 109. Fruchtig ist er dennoch, dazu sehr trocken. Am Gaumen präsentiert sich eine leichte Esternote, Früchte, Banane, etwas Holz, die anfängliche Apfelnote rückt in den Hintergrund.
Zum Pur trinken ist dieser Kandidat nicht gedacht, dafür ist er auch zu uninteressant und auch etwas zu schwach auf der Brust, aber in den richtigen Mixgetränken kommt er gut zur Geltung ohne diese zu überdecken. 1 Stern Abzug für den doch relativ hohen Preis, hier kann man auch für weniger Geld besseres zum mixen bekommen.
