With an alcohol content of 40% vol. and bottled in a 0.5-liter bottle, this brandy embodies the rich tradition and craftsmanship of distilling that has been cultivated for generations.
The long-established distillery uses a 300-liter bootleg still and a 200-liter fine still made of pure copper to ensure the highest quality of its brandies. The black elderberry used, known for its supposed healing powers, comes from the orchards of Obstbau Ferdinand Haas in Pöllau. The fruit is brought to the fermentation cellars by the shortest route, where it is fermented gently and at a controlled temperature. According to old Styrian tradition, the brandy is distilled twice, with only the high-proof core being removed for maturation in wood, glass or stainless steel.
