Dieses charakteristische Merkmal verleiht dem Whiskey eine bemerkenswerte Tiefe und Vielschichtigkeit. Die Reifung erfolgt in zwei sorgfältig abgestimmten Phasen: Zunächst reifen die Grain- und Malt-Whiskeys getrennt in Ex-Bourbon-Fässern, wobei ein präzises Verhältnis von 3:1 zugunsten des Getreides eingehalten wird.
Diese erste Reifeperiode kann bis zu sechs Jahre dauern und ermöglicht es den Whiskeys, ihre individuellen Geschmacksprofile zu entwickeln. Nach dieser Phase werden die Whiskeys in kleinen Chargen zusammengeführt und durchlaufen ein abschließendes Finish in ausgewählten amerikanischen Rumfässern, wodurch der Teeling Irish Whiskey Rum Cask seine einzigartige, komplexe Aromatik erhält, die sowohl Kenner als auch Liebhaber außergewöhnlicher Whiskeys begeistert.
