Description
The Balvenie Distillery, which has been producing high-quality whisky since 1892, still preserves many traditional methods in its production process. For example, the barley is still grown on site and the distillery uses a traditional malting floor - a rarity in the modern whisky industry. In addition, Balvenie employs its own team of coopers who are responsible for maintaining and repairing the casks to ensure optimum quality throughout the maturation process.
Balvenie 12 Years Old Single Barrel First Fill was first introduced in 2013 and has since become one of the brand's more exclusive whiskies. This single malt matured for a period of 12 years in first-fill bourbon casks, which gives it its characteristic depth and complexity.
As each bottling comes from a single cask, the number of bottles per cask is limited to 300, making each batch unique. Each bottle is carefully numbered by hand, further emphasizing the exclusivity and artisanal character of this whisky.
