The Teeling Irish Whiskey Rum Cask is characterized by an exceptionally high malt content, a rare characteristic that gives it a particularly distinctive note. Maturation takes place in two carefully coordinated phases: First, grain and malt whiskeys are stored separately in ex-bourbon barrels, with a special 3:1 ratio in favor of the grain.
This first maturation phase, which can last up to six years, allows the whiskeys to develop their individual aromas and character traits. The whiskeys are then combined in small batches and receive a final finish in carefully selected American rum casks. This final maturation gives the Teeling Irish Whiskey Rum Cask its complex depth and rich aroma, which makes it unique in the world of Irish whiskeys.
